1999 Vineyard Select Cabernet Sauvignon 90 Points
An inconsistent vintage, especially in the mountain vineyards, is outstanding. Made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, firm, austere tannin (a characteristic of the vintage), and complex notes of tobacco leaf, cedar wood, black currants, and earth. Dense and medium to full-bodied, with outstanding purity, it admirably balances elegance with power.
